A Seasonal Update

It finally feels like fall in Ohio, so I thought it might be time for a quick post about what I’ve been up to since I last wrote here.

At the beginning of the summer, my wife and I completed a 6-month project to hike every mile of trail in our wonderful local park system. Someone from the Metro Parks team saw my post about this on Facebook and asked me to contribute to their newsletter in July, which I was honored to do! A few people have asked me to share the spreadsheet I used to track our progress. Feel free to download a blank copy here.

For many years, I've wanted to learn to play golf. I've made one or two visits to the driving range each of the past few summers, but I had trouble sticking with it. This year I decided to try again, and I set a goal to play nine holes with my wife and in-laws by the end of July. And I did it! In fact, we went a couple of times. I'm still a truly terrible golfer and have much to learn, but it felt good to set a goal and reach it.

Another fun summer adventure was running sound for a few dates with St. Joseph and the Sinners. These guys are really great and I've had fun working with them. If you're in the Central Ohio area, definitely check out a future show!

The warm months were also full of travel and family time: our annual vacation to Jekyll Island, two trips to Pittsburgh for baseball, and a fun road trip through Chicago, Wisconsin, and Iowa just last week. Now it's time to settle into fall routines and watch the holidays on the horizon!

I'm working on some new ideas for this blog which I'm excited to share soon! In the meantime, I added a Now page to my website which I've been updating, and I continue to post occasionally on Daft Social.
